Ingredients

  • 1 (10 oz.) angel food cake
  • 1 (16 oz.) frozen strawberries
  • 1 small strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 small vanilla instant pudding
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 large Cool Whip
  • 1 pt. vanilla ice cream
  • 4 c. ground almonds
  • 3/4 c. zwieback toast, ground
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 to 3 bottles cherries with stems
  • red and green sugar

Method

  • Put milk and sugar into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat; add toast, nuts and almond extract.
  • Mix until well blended.
  • Wet hands.
  • Shape almond mixture around cherries in the shape of a bell.
  • Roll bell in red or green sugar.
  • Keep refrigerated until served.
  • Makes about 50 bells.
