- 1 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 1 1/2 c. egg whites
- 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1/2 pt. whipping cream
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed
Method
- Sift flour and confectioners sugar together 3 times.
- Beat together egg whites, cream of tartar and salt with a wire whisk or electric mixer until foamy.
- Add 1 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time; beat until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and almond flavorings.
- Sift flour mixture gradually over the top; fold in gently, just until flour mixture disappears.
