Ingredients
- 2 lbs apples
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 piece lemon rind
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Method
- Peel and core the apples.
- Cut into thick slices.
- Saute in butter 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with sugar.
- Add water, wine, lemon peel and lemon juice.
- Cover and cook slowly until tender.
