Ingredients
- 4 qt. sliced squash
- 2 qt. medium onions, sliced
- 1/2 c. salt
- 5 c. sugar
- 5 c. vinegar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. turmeric powder
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
Method
- Mix together squash, onions and salt.
- Place in pan and add 2 quarts ice.
- Let stand 3 hours; drain and wash in cold water. Combine remaining ingredients.
- Heat to boiling and add squash. Let come to boil again.
- Put in jars and seal.
