Ingredients
- 8 oz. flour (2 heaped c.)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 4 oz. (1 stick) margarine
- 3 oz. sugar (2/3 c.)
- 4 oz. currants (level c.)
- milk to mix
Method
- Mix flour, salt and baking powder.
- Add the margarine, sugar and currants.
- Mix with sufficient milk to make a soft dough. Place dough in a greased basin, filling it 2/3 full and cover with wax paper and foil.
- Steam in a covered saucepan for 2 to 3 hours. Serve with a custard sauce or sprinkled with brown sugar.
