Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 3 egg yolks
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla or lemon
Method
- Beat egg whites until medium stiff.
- Drop egg yolks into cold water.
- Beat until foamy.
- Add sugar gradually, beating continuously.
- Sift cake flour, salt and baking powder.
- Fold sifted mixture into egg yolk and add vanilla or lemon.
- Stir egg whites and fold in.
- Use tube pan and bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.
- Invert when done.
