Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. fat or margarine
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. raw rice
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. mustard (if you like)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper

Method

  • Melt fat in skillet.
  • Add onion, green pepper, beef and rice; stir over high heat until lightly browned.
  • Add tomato sauce and remaining ingredients; mix well.
  • Bring quickly to a boil.
  • Cover tightly; simmer for 25 minutes.
