- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 2 c. tomatoes (whole, juice too)
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 3/4 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. sweet basil
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 3 bay leaves
Method
- Put ground beef in frying pan.
- Add onion, green pepper and mushrooms.
- Brown. Drain grease; then add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
- Simmer about 3 hours.
- Remove bay leaves and serve over hot spaghetti.
- Serves 3 to 4 people.
