Ingredients
- 1/2 bushel tomatoes, cooked and sieved
- 3 lb. onions, chopped
- 1 tsp. bay leaves, crumble whole leaves for this amount
- 2 tsp. sweet basil
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 8 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste (48 oz.)
- 6 green peppers, chopped
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 1/3 c. salt
Method
- Cool tomatoes and pour off water.
- Put all ingredients together.
- Cook 1 1/2 hours or until as thick as you desire.
- Stir occasionally.
- (Cook uncovered.)
