Ingredients
- 1 medium cabbage, cleaned and shredded
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 pound salt pork
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper (optional)
Method
- Combine shredded cabbage, water, salt pork, and sugar in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Drain well. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
