Ingredients

  • Single pie crust
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 medium size apples

Method

  • Sift flour, sugar, salt and nutmeg into a large bowl.
  • Stir in beaten egg, sour cream and vanilla.
  • Wash, pare, quarter, core and slice apples thinly (about 2 cups).
  • Fold into sour cream mixture; spoon into unbaked pastry shell.
  • Bake in a pre-heated hot oven (400°) for 15 minutes.
  • Lower heat to moderate (350°); bake 30 minutes longer.
