Ingredients

  • 1 large pkg. strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar (optional)
  • 2 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
  • 1 bag frozen coconut
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 large angel food cake

Method

  • Mix Jell-O by directions on box.
  • Put in refrigerator to congeal.
  • Mix pineapple, pecans (sugar, if used) and salt.
  • When Jell-O is set, mix with 1 container of Cool Whip.
  • Add chilled pecan and pineapple mixture.
  • In large dish alternate layers starting with angel food cake which has been pinched in bite-size pieces.
  • Pour Jell-O mixture over cake until all is used.
  • Top with Cool Whip.
  • Then add frozen coconut on top.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Can put in punch bowl or oblong dish.
