- 1 medium cabbage
- 1/4 c. chopped red pepper
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp. chili sauce
- 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
- 4 Tbsp. oleo or butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 3/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Method
- Cut cabbage into 8 wedges.
- Cooked in small amount boiling salted water about 10 minutes, drain.
- Saute vegetables in butter. Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Stir into sauteed vegetables. Stir in milk.
- Stir until bubbly and thick.
- Arrange cabbage in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Pour vegetable sauce over cabbage.
- Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes at 375°.
- Combine mayonnaise, cheese and chili sauce.
- Spoon over cabbage.
- Bake 5 more minutes.
