Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. oleo or butter
  • 1/3 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
  • 1/4 c. chopped green onions
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • dash of pepper
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 12 oz. can Green Giant Niblets whole kernel golden sweet corn

Method

  • Melt 1 tablespoon butter in medium skillet. Stir in bread crumbs and cook over medium heat until golden brown, stirring constantly. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in same skillet. Add onions; cook and stir until tender. Stir in flour, salt, dry mustard, paprika and pepper.
  • Cook until mixture is bubbly, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and egg. Cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly. Stir in corn and cook until thoroughly heated.
  • Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
