Ingredients

  • 4 c. cut up cabbage
  • 2 c. chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 diced green pepper

Method

  • Boil cabbage until tender; add salt before boiling.
  • Butter baking dish.
  • Make layers of cabbage and cracker crumbs.
  • Sprinkle a little sugar and pepper.
  • Add a few squares of butter.
  • Add another layer of the same order.
  • Add layers until the amount is reached.
  • Pour enough hot milk in to cover layers.
  • Bake at 375° until thick and brown on top, 45 minutes. Good served with pork.
