Ingredients

  • 90 grams Spaghetti (choose the thin variety)
  • 1/4 can Canned whole tomatoes
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Salt and pepper
  • 1 Grated cheese
  • 1 Basil (if available)

Method

  • Mince the onion and garlic.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan and cook the garlic on low heat.
  • When the garlic is fragrant and slightly brown, add the onions and cook on medium heat until wilted.
  • Add the whole tomatoes.
  • Crush the tomatoes with a spatula.
  • When the mixture starts to boil, add basil.
  • Lightly season with salt and pepper and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the al dente spaghetti.
  • If needed, mix in a little pasta water and add salt and pepper to taste.
