Ingredients

  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 whole thinly sliced lemon
  • 2 cans tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 2 c. diced bacon
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 15 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/4 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup

Method

  • Into a heavy kettle, put first 5 ingredients.
  • Brown bacon and onion in frying pan.
  • Add remaining ingredients to kettle.
  • Cook at boil for 2 hours.
  • Add 5 pounds raw peeled shrimp.
  • Cook gently for 1 hour.
  • Add 3/4 cup to 1 cup sherry and thicken with cracker crumbs.
  • Serve over cooked rice with grated, shake on spaghetti cheese on top (to taste).
