Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 2 lb. raw shrimp, peeled
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 c. milk
  • 4 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. dried parsley

Method

  • Melt margarine in heavy skillet.
  • Saute vegetables.
  • Add raw, peeled shrimp and saute a few minutes longer.
  • Stir in flour, salt and chili powder.
  • Add milk gradually and cook 5 minutes over low heat.
  • Add catsup and parsley.
  • Cook, covered, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve over rice with green salad and French bread.
  • Serves 4 to 6.
