Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion, celery and green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening or oil
  • 1 lb. can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • dash of hot sauce
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 12 oz. shrimp

Method

  • Saute vegetables in oil.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and next 5 things. Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes.
  • Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water. Stir in.
  • Mixture should thicken. Stir in shrimp and heat through.
  • Serve over rice.
