Ingredients
- 1 lb. shrimp
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. green pepper
- 1/4 c. chopped celery
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 to 1 Creole seasoning (we use Paul Prudhomme's Seafood Magic)
- dash of pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 16 oz. can tomatoes, chopped (with liquid)
- 4 oz. tomato sauce
Method
- Peel and devein shrimp.
- Cook onions, peppers, celery and garlic in butter until tender.
- Blend in flour and seasonings. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce and cook until thick, stirring constantly.
- Add shrimp and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
