Ingredients

  • 4 c. Cheerios
  • 3 c. Wheat Chex
  • 3 c. Rice Chex
  • 3 c. Corn Chex
  • 3 c. slim pretzel sticks
  • 1 lb. deluxe mixed nuts
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. bacon drippings (crumble bacon and reserve in fridge for other recipes or salad topping)
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. savory

Method

  • Combine dry cereals, pretzels and nuts in large roasting pan. In small saucepan, slowly heat butter and bacon drippings until melted.
  • Add Worcestershire and Tabasco sauces and blend.
  • Pour over cereal mixture.
  • With a rubber spatula, gently stir ingredients to distribute the butter mixture.
  • In small dish, combine the seasonings and sprinkle over cereal mixture.
  • Again, stir gently to distribute all ingredients.
  • Toast in slow over 250 degrees for 1 hour.
  • During the hour, remove from oven every 15 minutes and stir.
  • Cool.
  • Store in tin canisters.
