Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. bread pieces
- 1/4 c. melted margarine or butter
- 3 c. tomatoes, peeled and cut
- 6 Tbsp. brown sugar
- dash of ground cloves
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Line baking dish with bread pieces and pour melted butter over them.
- Mix until bread is coated with butter.
- Stir sugar, cloves and salt into tomatoes.
- Heat tomatoes to boiling and pour over bread.
- Stir to mix bread with tomatoes.
- Bake at 425° for 30 minutes or until well-browned.
- This dish freezes well.
- Serves six.
