Ingredients

  • 3 lb. sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 c. water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. celery, diced
  • 5 c. water
  • 1 pkg. Uncle Ben's wild and long grain rice
  • 2 envelopes chicken noodle soup
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 oz. mushrooms (canned or fresh)
  • 1 c. slivered almonds

Method

  • Cook sausage; drain fat.
  • Saute with onion, water chestnuts, green pepper and celery.
  • Bring the water to boil; add rice and envelopes of chicken soup.
  • Boil 15 minutes.
  • Add to sausage mixture.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Bake at 300° for 1 hour. Serves 14.
