Ingredients
- 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate (1 oz. each)
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- powdered or granulated sugar
Method
- In large heavy saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat,
- stirring
- constantly.
- Remove
- from
- heat.
- Cool slightly. Beat
- in
- sugar.
- Add
- eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly. Stir
- in
- vanilla.
- Mix
- flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add to mixture.
- Fold in nuts.
- Chill about 30 minutes. Shape into 1-inch balls.
- Roll in sugar and bake on ungreased sheet for 18 to 20 minutes at 300°.
