Ingredients

  • 2 unsliced loaves Italian bread
  • 1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 c. sliced green onions
  • 1/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 12 to 14 thin slices pickles (Stackers work well)
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 lb. thinly sliced fully cooked luncheon meat (choose from ham, roast beef or smoked turkey or layer with all 3)

Method

  • Cut the bread in half lengthwise. Hollow out top and bottom of loaves, leaving a 1/2-inch shell. Combine cheeses, onions, mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce and spread over crust sides of bread. Layer meat on both halves. Place pickles on bottom half. Gently press halves together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Cut into 1 1/2-inch slices. This travels very well.
