Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 c. chunk style peanut butter
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. whole salted peanuts

Method

  • Cream together butter, shortening and peanut butter.
  • Beat in sugars gradually.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Blend in sifted dry ingredients.
  • Stir in chocolate pieces and peanuts.
  • Drop by teaspoon onto buttered cookie sheet.
  • Bake in slow oven at 325° for about 15 minutes. Makes about 8 dozen.
