Ingredients

  • 1 lb. firm day old white sandwich bread
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. pure maple syrup

Method

  • Grease 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Cut bread into cubes.
  • Spread half the bread into prepared pan.
  • Cut cheese into small cubes and sprinkle half over bread in the pan.
  • Repeat, layering with remaining bread and cheese.
  • Whisk the eggs, milk and syrup in large bowl.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Bake, uncovered, 30 to 40 minutes, until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Let stand 15 minutes. Serve warm with additional syrup.
