Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk

Method

  • Beat eggs slightly with sugar and salt; add flour and milk. Beat until smooth.
  • Set aside to set.
  • This is a must, as it prevents bubbles remaining on top of batter.
  • Using a deep frypan, heat oil to 320°.
  • Place rosette iron in the oil to be heated. When oil reaches 320° remove iron, tapping it lightly against the edge of pan.
  • Dip hot iron into batter, being careful not to spill batter over top edge of iron.
  • Immerse rosette in hot oil for at least 20 seconds to obtain light brown color.
