Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 lb. pkg. rigatoni
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 lb. Muenster cheese, sliced

Method

  • Heat oil in large skillet; saute sausage, onion and garlic until meat is browned.
  • Add mushrooms, bay leaf, salt, pepper, tomato paste, water, oregano and sugar.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Cover; simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
