Ingredients
- 1 1/2 qt. milk
- 3/4 c. rice (not instant)
- 1/2 c. canned milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- In a deep saucepan, combine milk and rice.
- Simmer, over low heat, until rice is done (about 45 minutes).
- Mix eggs, canned milk, sugar and cornstarch in a bowl and set aside.
- When rice is done, add liquid mixture and vanilla.
- Bring back to a boil and remove from heat.
- Pour into dish and cool.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and/or nutmeg on top.
- Serve hot or cold.
