Ingredients
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 3 eggs, beaten
- melted butter
Method
- Scald milk and cool to lukewarm.
- Soften yeast in water. Combine flour, sugar and salt in large bowl.
- Cut in shortening until fine.
- Add warm milk, eggs and yeast.
- Beat until well blended.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight or up to 1 week.
- Roll out on floured board as biscuits.
- Brush with melted butter; place on greased cookie sheet.
- Cover and let rise for 3 hours.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 400°.
- Makes 24.
