Ingredients
- 6 c. Pillsbury all-purpose flour
- 1 c. boiling water
- 4 pkg. Fleischmann's yeast
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; set aside.
- Cream shortening and sugar until slightly creamy.
- Pour boiling water into cup to dissolve all the shortening and add to creamed mixture.
- Add lightly beaten eggs and stir, then add dissolved yeast.
- Add flour, 3 cups at a time.
- Stir until all flour is wet (do not try to remove the lumps).
- Cover with waxed paper and aluminum foil and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
