Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef short ribs
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. California Burgundy wine
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onions
  • 2 Tbsp. wine vinegar

Method

  • Place meat in large casserole or ovenproof dish.
  • In mixing bowl, combine all other ingredients, blending well.
  • Pour over meat, being careful to spoon on every piece of meat.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 1 hour, covered with foil.
  • Remove foil or cover and bake 30 minutes longer (making 1 1/2 hours total cooking time).
  • Serves 4.
