Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 c. lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 c. melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch of baking soda

Method

  • Put first 2 ingredients in large mixing bowl. Let stand 5 minutes.
  • Add next 4 ingredients.
  • Beat in flour.
  • Cover the bowl. Let stand overnight
  • or at least 8 hours (but not in refrigerator).
  • When time to cook the waffles, add last 2 ingredients.
  • Beat well.
  • The batter will be very thin.
  • Cook on a waffle iron.
  • Makes 6 or more large waffles.
