Ingredients
- 1/3 C shortening
- 2 C all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3-3/4 C milk
Method
- Heat oven to 450 degrees.
- Thoroughly cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt.
- Stir in just enough milk until dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
- Knead 10 times.
- Roll or pat dough into 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut with floured 2 1/2 inch cutter.
- Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Yield about 8 biscuits.
