Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. elbow macaroni
  • 4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
  • about 1/2 c. milk
  • salt and pepper
  • bread crumbs

Method

  • Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water.
  • In a 1-quart casserole, layer half the macaroni add a little salt and pepper and milk and top with half the cheese.
  • Cover with rest of macaroni, add enough milk to almost cover it and top with rest of grated cheese.
  • Sprinkle with bread crumbs (from 1 slice dry bread) and dot with butter or margarine.
  • Bake at 375° for about 30 minutes.
  • Serves 4 to 6.
