- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
- 1/2 c. half and half
- 3/4 c. spaghetti sauce
- 3/4 c. good brown gravy (homemade if have) or canned beef gravy
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
- 1 tsp. dried whole oregano
- 1/2 tsp. dried whole rosemary
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3/4 lb. penne pasta (short, small pasta tubes)
Method
- Prepare pasta according to package directions.
- Add oil to a frying pan; cook beef and garlic.
- Saute until the meat is tender, then drain excess fat.
- Add all remaining ingredients, except the cheese for topping and the pasta.
- Simmer while pasta is cooking. Drain pasta; mix with the sauce.
- Pour into a 3-quart baking dish; top with cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25 minutes, or until bubbly hot.
- Serves 6.
