Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 2 scant tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. plain flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. prunes, cooked very tender and chopped fine

Method

  • Cream butter, salt and sugar; add eggs, 1 at at time.
  • Add 1 cup flour, beating after each addition.
  • Also add to flour, soda and baking powder.
  • Add flour alternately with buttermilk and vanilla.
  • Add spices; beat.
  • Add prunes.
  • Bake in 2 pie pans, greased and floured, or greased wax paper.
