Ingredients

  • 1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine or 1 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (15 oz.) box raisins or less

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Cream together the butter or shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture.
  • Add oatmeal, nuts and raisins; mix well.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet; bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Yields 6 dozen.
