Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. stewed prunes, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Method

  • Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add chopped prunes and stir in sour cream. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and spices and add to creamed mixture. Pour into 2 (8-inch) greased pans or a flat pan. Bake in moderate oven, 350°, for about 20 minutes or until done. Frost with Creamy Icing.
