Ingredients

  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. butter
  • 8 Tbsp. cold water
  • 2 c. pecans
  • 1/4 tsp. maple flavoring

Method

  • Put sugar, water and salt in saucepan.
  • As soon as it starts to boil, add pecans and cook about six minutes.
  • Add flavoring and butter.
  • Beat until it begins to lose the shiny appearance and immediately drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.
  • This is really very easy, but takes a time or two to know when to start dropping. Have waxed paper ready before beginning to make candy.
