Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 pt. whipping cream
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Combine
  • butter,
  • brown
  • sugar
  • and
  • pecans in skillet; cook over low
  • heat until sugar dissolves.
  • Pour in pie shell. Combine sugar
  • and
  • cornstarch
  • in
  • a boiler; slowly add milk. Cook over low
  • heat until thickened.
  • Add vanilla;
  • pour over pecan mixture. Let
  • cool.
  • Whip cream, adding powdered sugar, as desired. Spread on top of cool pie.
