Ingredients

  • 2 c. cold water
  • 2 c. cooked, diced ham
  • 2 c. diced potatoes
  • 1/2 c. diced onions
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 2 cubes beef bouillon
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped chives
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 tsp. flour

Method

  • Combine all ingredients except milk and flour in a large saucepan.
  • Mix well.
  • Bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are fork-tender.
  • Set aside.
  • In small bowl gradually add milk to flour, stirring constantly.
  • Add this mixture to soup, stirring constantly.
  • Heat, but do not boil, until thickened.
