Ingredients

  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 to 3 c. flour
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

  • Heat milk; add sugar and butter.
  • Place in large warm bowl. Add 2 eggs and 3 cups flour.
  • Dissolve yeast in water and add to mixture.
  • Add 2 to 3 more cups flour and knead for 10 minutes. Place in large, greased bowl, greasing top of dough, too.
  • Cover with dry towel and let rise until double in size.
  • Punch down, divide in two.
  • Place in 2 greased pie tins and allow to rise again, covered.
  • Brush additional beaten egg on top.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
