Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 tsp. molasses or corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin seed
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 5 c. tomato juice
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. of quick cooking rice
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Mix together chili powder,
  • molasses, cumin, oregano & tomato juice in electric skillet. In a large bowl combine beef, rice, onion, green pepper, celery, egg, mustard, salt & pepper.
  • Blend well.
  • Shape into meatballs.
  • Place in sauce.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover & simmer 20 minutes or until meatballs are thoroughly cooked.
