Ingredients
- 5 egg yolks
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 5 Tbsp. sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. brandy or 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
Method
- Add salt to eggs; beat until thick and lemon colored.
- Add sugar and flavoring; continue to beat.
- Add sour cream and flour alternately, mixing well after each addition.
- Knead on floured board until dough blisters.
- Cut in halves.
- Roll very thin; cut into strips about 4 inches long.
- Slit each piece in center and pull through slit.
- Fry in fat until lightly browned.
- Drain on paper towel.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
