Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. diced onion
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese, cut in bite-size cubes
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 (12 to 15 oz.) jar pizza sauce
  • 4 c. cooked rice

Method

  • In a medium bowl, mix first 6 ingredients with a fork.
  • Shape mixture into 12 meat balls with a cube of cheese in the center of each.
  • On waxed paper, coat each meat ball lightly with flour.
  • In 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, heat salad oil.
  • Cook meat balls until brown on all sides.
  • Spoon off fat.
  • Add pizza sauce. Heat to boiling.
  • Reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Serve on rice.
