Ingredients

  • 3 lbs hamburger
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 lb extra-sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 (10 ounce) can tomato soup
  • 1 (10 ounce) can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 cup salad oil
  • 8 hamburger buns

Method

  • Brown hamburger and onions and season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain. While hamburger is hot, add remaining ingredients except buns. Mix well and refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Remove from refrigerator about 1 hour before using. Spread on bun halves and broil until cheese melts.
