Ingredients
- 2 lb. dry pinto beans, rinsed well
- 1 lb. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 lb. ham or bacon, cut up in squares
- 2 Tbsp. salt
Method
- In 4-quart pan put beans and onion and salt into 2-quarts of water.
- Put in ham or bacon, stirring occasionally.
- Cook for 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
