Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 8 Tbsp. cold water

Method

  • Sift together flour and salt.
  • Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender until the size of small peas.
  • Sprinkle water 1 tablespoon at a time over part of the mixture.
  • Gently mix with a fork.
  • Push to one side of bowl.
  • Sprinkle next tablespoon of water and repeat until all is moistened.
  • Gather with fingers and form into a ball (mix will be crumbly).
  • Let stand several minutes.
  • Divide dough into 4 balls.
  • Flatten slightly and roll on lightly floured surface.
  • Makes 2 double crust pies.
